Persian Gulf University, as its name suggests, seeks to promote Persian language and identity in the region and across the world. Therefore, the university, taking advantage of the capacities of its faculty members and with the aim of developing Persian culture, language, and literature as one of the components of the soft power of the Islamic Republic of Iran, established the Center for Teaching Persian to Non-Persian Speakers (AZFA) in 2024. In fact, in line with the university’s national and international mission and responsibilities, the center was granted definitive authorization by the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology.

In addition to spreading Iranian culture and literature around the world and promoting peace, the important goals of this educational center include attracting international students to foster international partnerships, promote academic exchange programs, and boost cross-cultural understanding. A serious requirement to achieve these goals is to help international students learn Persian to acquire knowledge in their specialized fields.

The Persian Gulf University AZFA Center seeks to attract international students who are enthusiastic and passionate about learning Persian by creating a scientific and cultural environment in a suitable space. The instructors of the AZFA center, benefiting from their rich experience in teaching Persian to non-Persian speakers, use the best up-to-date teaching methods.
